WELCOME TO ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND THE DWOC STUDIO!  

ACADEMIC SUPPORT offers Academic Tutoring for Subject Areas/Courses

For Academic Tutoring, you can schedule a meeting for support in a specific subject area/course by doing the following:

1. Go to the Tutoring schedule for the current term (e.g., Tutoring: Fall 2024).

2. Once there, you can choose the class you want tutoring in (from the drop-down menu on the left-hand side). Select an open time from those available and complete the appointment form. You will receive an email from the student tutor confirming the appointment details (time, location).

Please be aware that there is a separate schedule for World Language tutoring (including ESL, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish).

The DWOC STUDIO offers support for all Writing and Speaking-Related Assignments

For undergraduate students, you can make face-to-face or synchronous (virtual, real-time) online appointments by doing the following:

1. Go to the Undergraduate DWOC Schedule for the current term (e.g., DWOC Studio: Undergraduate Fall 2024).

2. Once there, you can schedule an either a face-to-face or synchronous online (virtual, real-time) appointment. Face-to-face appointments are in KHIC 110A (across from the library circulation desk). For synchronous online appointments, return to the schedule at the time of your appointment and click on "join now" in your appointment window.


For graduate students, you can request either a synchronous (virtual, real-time) or asynchronous online appointment. To request a consultation, do the following:

1. Go to the Graduate DWOC Schedule for the current term (e.g., DWOC Studio: Graduate Spring 2024).

2. Within 24 hours, you should receive an email confirming your appointment and asking if you prefer a synchronous (virtual, real-time) or asynchronous (response sent you you with no interaction) appointment. Based on the response, expect the entire critique process to take at least 48 hours.

APPROPRIATE USE POLICY

By setting up an account, you are agreeing to use Academic Support and the DWOC Studio appropriately and treat its staff with respect. If we determine that you are misusing the services or mistreating our staff in any way, we reserve the right to limit, suspend, or revoke your tutoring privileges.

Examples of misuse include but are not limited to excessive cancellations or missed appointments, improper use of appointment time, or dishonesty. Examples of mistreatment of staff include but are not limited to attempts to engage tutors in academic misconduct, engaging in inappropriate behavior, and using disrespectful language.
